Our History

Hunkar Trading Co. Limited (HTC) was founded over two decades ago by Mr. Kariuki Kahungura. Mr. Kariuki had a vision of introducing innovative cooking solutions in remote areas and its surrounding regions at the time. His vision was instigated by his humble background where he grew up, as he had firsthand experiences of the negative effects cooking with materials that produce harmful carbon emissions had on his family’s health. Since then, he vowed to find an alternative that was clean, safe and environmentally friendly thus, establishing the brand Hunkar Gas.
